GayLynn Massanari is the Ministry Director for CornerStone Performing Arts Academy going on three years. Her high standard for excellence in the arts coupled with her passion for today’s youth to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior is her driving force.
Among her many accomplishments, Mrs. Massanari has served over 20 years coordinating the teaching, skits and worship for CornerStone Women’s Retreats. She was the CornerStone Children’s Church Director for 15 years and ran the Foursquare kids camp which encompassed over 400 children. She is a master event planner and coordinator, holding banquets for 500 people where she designed and created elaborate décor, oversaw the menu and planned the entertainment. Mrs. Massanari has directed and co- directed numerous productions for both CornerStone Church and CPAA, including Life School Musical, In the Big Inning, Charlie’s Angels, Christmas at Hope Central, Game Show “Deal or No Deal”, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Best Summer Ever, Elf Jr., Annie Jr., and Beauty and the Beast Jr.
She has taught numerous classes in both Drama and Musical Theater. Mrs. Massanari grew up in Las Vegas and is the loving wife of Pastor Greg Massanari, the proud mother of five extraordinary children and the adoring grandmother of eight incredible grandchildren.
Colby Leigh Massanari is a professional dancer and choreographer. She is technically trained in over eighteen different styles: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot and many more. She was born and raised in Las Vegas and competed for many years winning many national titles. Between ages sixteen and seventeen, Colby traveled all across the nation serving as an assistant to Stacey Tookey for Nuvo Competitions by Break the Floor Productions. She moved to New York City when she was eighteen to pursue her career as a Professional Ballroom dancer where she was mentored by, and danced with, Mayo Alanen who appeared on the first season of Dancing With the Stars. In 2014, Colby was awarded the prestigious ballroom title World Championship in Theater Arts.
Colby has worked for and studied with some of the top names in the dance industry such as Peter Chu, Stacey Tookey, Blake McGrath, Chaz Buzan, Mayo Alanen and Shannon Mather. Colby’s latest endeavor is developing her God given gifts to help build and develop CornerStone Performing Arts Academy. She has found a new passion using the talents that God has given her to teach young students Dance and Musical Theatre in a healthy Christian environment. Colby is the very proud mother of 1 year old Stetson.
Rebecca Sims has over 25 years of experience as a professional dancer, singer, actress, choreographer, director and artistic director. She studied extensively at the Royale Ballet of Performing Arts, on scholarship at the National Academy of Arts (now the Virginia School of the Arts), and on scholarship at Missouri State University where she worked toward her BFA in Theater. She has studied under the direction of dance icons such as Maria Youskevitch, Mikhail Baryshvikov, Bob Fosse, Gus Giordano and Tony Coppola to name a few.
Rebecca has performed leading roles in numerous musicals and revue productions. She was a featured singer and dancer with the Mel Tillis Show in Branson, Missouri, and lead female dancer and assistant for illusionist Kirby VanBurch. She has performed both nationally and internationally, on stage and on television, with Christian and secular recording artists Carman, Michael W. Smith, Gritz, DC Talk, Andre Kole, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Dwight Yoakam.
In 1998, Rebecca served as co-founder and President of Ministry in Motion, a nonprofit dance ministry that evolved from Carman Ministries. In 2003 and 2004, Rebecca choreographed and performed in “Come Celebrate America,” a live stage production with a cast of 53 Christian artists in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. From 2010 to present Rebecca has been blessed to be the Artistic Director/Choreographer for a large scale, live stage production for Premier Designs Inc. in Dallas TX. With casts ranging from 50 – 120 performers, Rebecca, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the support of an 4 incredible team, is the artistic visionary behind this annual patriotic tribute to our nation that is performed for audiences upward of 8,000 people.
Rebecca has been honored to be a Director for CPAA for 3 years. She has co-directed the musicals Best Summer Ever, Elf Jr., Annie Jr, Christmas at Hope Central and Beauty and the Beast Jr., along with two Spring Showcases. Rebecca has taught classes in Voice, Drama, Dance and Musical Theater. Her passion is to honor God through her gifts and talents, and to encourage and equip others to be all that God intends them to be. She currently lives in Las Vegas with her two amazing children, John David (12), Kiersten (8) and fur baby Bailey.
Tenor Ryan Ralph was born in Sheridan, MI and has spent the past 14 years in Las Vegas, NV. Ryan studied music education and vocal performance, along with a minor in Trombone performance, at Central Michigan University. He continued his education at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. There he worked on his Master’s Degree in Opera Performance. After leaving Austin, Ryan moved to New York City, where he lived for 3 years performing Opera professionally around the world. He has performed with numerous companies such as Washington National Opera, Nashville Opera, San Diego Lyric Opera, Virginia Musical Theater, Ashlawn Opera Festival, Austin Lyric Opera, The Austrian American Mozart Academy, and many more. Mr. Ralph has been performing professionally now for over 15 years. He also had a recording career singing with the classical crossover group W.I.N with Universal Music Group, South Korea. In addition to his performing career, Mr. Ralph has taught numerous choirs, lessons, music theory, and music history classes during his time in Austin, New York, and Las Vegas.
Ryan has 3 beautiful children, Caden (17), Ethan (14), and Carmen (12). His wife, Anitra, also studied music at Central Michigan University. She is currently the district manager for the Pandora, Brighton and Alex and Ani stores in Las Vegas. They also are big dog lovers and have 3 rescue dogs, Gatsby, Leia, and Obi. Away from the stage and classroom, Ryan also has many interests and hobbies outside of the performing arts world. Ryan was an all state golfer at his high school in his home state of Michigan. He is also an avid runner and competes in 5-6 half marathons a year.
Dr. Susan Galvin has been the vocal director for the CPAA Show Choir for the past two years, as well as assisting in various capacities with Musical Theater. She started classical piano training at the age of 4.5, and competed regularly though her middle school and high school years. She began playing on a professional basis at the age of 12, working as an accompanist for ballet classes and local singers. Although she did not pursue additional piano training in college, music was always part of her life as she trained to become a medical doctor.
While in medical school she began working as a church accompanist and vocalist, and was a featured performer at a fundraiser for a New York State Senator. She has been a church pianist and vocalist for over twenty years and is currently the Worship Team Leader at Spring Meadows PCA Church. Recent additional training includes private jazz piano lessons with Travis Lohmann and completion of a week-long Jazz immersion camp conducted by Jamey Abersold at the University of Kentucky, Louisville.
Dr. Galvin currently practices medicine at Hope Christian Medical Center, and also provides consulting services to Magellan Health/NIA. Being a part of the CPAA staff has allowed her to balance her medical career with her love of the performing arts and share that with the students of CornerStone.
Darin Bradford is a one of a kind concert pianist, clinician, and lecturer. He holds a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance and a Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Missouri State University. His powerful soloistic style is extraordinary. Darin maximizes the dynamic writings of his favorite composers by performing each piece with the utmost sensitivity.
Mr. Bradford is also adept in Martial Arts. He holds a 7th degree Black Belt in Mahato Karate, 5th degree Black Belt in Shorin Ryu and high ranking Black Belts in several other styles. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009 and 2014 for his Marital Arts prowess. Additionally, his unique talents have allowed him to perform in other facets of the entertainment industry. His experience includes work as a print model in the high fashion industry and as stuntman for shows such as the Las Vegas Spectacular Storm, Buccaneer Bay Pirate Show, and Excaliburs Tournament of Kings.
Currently Darin is Music Director of Good Samaritan Church and oversees all music related performances and visuals for the services. He is currently working on several concert series that will include high level classical music and praise band worship related events. In his free time Darin enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. Darin and his family enjoy riding on jet skis on the lake, playing video games together, watching movies, and playing with their dog Zero. Darin and his wife, Danielle, also enjoy playing music together, going out to dinner, and driving to Mt. Charleston.
Janelle Jaehn is a performer, choreographer, and teacher from fabulous Las Vegas. Initially training under brilliant influencers, Janelle excelled in the competitive world of dance as a child. As she progressed she became an assistant teacher which is where her passion really began to grow. While getting her start as a professional performer in Las Vegas Janelle continued to study teaching techniques to bring out the very best in her own students. Inspired by her childhood training as a well-rounded dancer, Janelle continued to teach in all styles of dance and encouraged her students to take the same path. Her good eye and innovating teaching methods brought her full circle, now judging and teaching in the competition world she grew up in. Janelle is so blessed to travel the states and parts of Mexico sharing her talents and love for the art of dance. While continuing to instruct in traditional dance studios you can also find Janelle teaching in the school district’s dance department, performing with her friends as much as possible, judging talent for beauty pageants, stage managing for artistic showcases and snagging a few features on the ‘Dance Moms’ television show.
Christina Engelson danced competitively for 8 years with her sister at a local dance studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Christina has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tumbling, Tap, and Broadway. After she graduated high school, she began teaching at the schools and at the studio she attended here in the valley. It’s a passion of Christina’s and something she really enjoys doing! Christina can’t wait to share this gift of dance with your little one.
